Phil Masinga

Philemon Raul "Phil" Masinga (born 28 June 1969 in Klerksdorp) is a South African former professional footballer and manager who played as a striker from 1991 to 2002.
He played in the English Premier League for Leeds United, and Italian Serie A for Salernitana and Bari. He also played for Jomo Cosmos, Mamelodi Sundowns, St. Gallen and Al-Wahda. He represented South Africa in 58 international games, scoring 18 goals and in 2006 briefly managed PJ Stars.
==Club career==
He is a former player for Jomo Cosmos and Mamelodi Sundowns. He grew up playing for Jomo Cosmos. He played for South African major league with Mamelodi Sundowns and then left for England to play for Leeds United in a package deal with Lucas Radebe that his FIFA agent Marcelo Houseman did with Howard Wilkinson.
He played in the English Premiership for two years, playing 31 games and scoring five goals, and also scored a hat-trick in an FA Cup tie against Walsall on 17 January 1995.
Masinga played ten games in Switzerland with St. Gallen and then moved to Italy to play for Salernitana, scoring four goals in 16 games. He then spent 4 years playing for Bari. In 2000, a return to English Football with Coventry City fell through after he failed to secure a work permit.
